Monday I spent the day catching up on e-mail, cleaning my room, doing laundry and generally fucking around the house. Gotta love being unemployed on vacation
Tuesday I went to visit Uncle Foo with Daddy. We hung out, had some decent food, great conversation and saw the new Pirates movie. Overall, it was a very good afternoon/evening even if it was over 100 degrees outside.
Wednesday I took Kimi and Daddy David to Sandy Hook’s Gunnison Beach. We got to the shore at 11:30 and left just before 2. There wasn’t much of an on-shore breeze so the biting flies were a total nuisance and especially interested in munching on Daddy David. Kimi’s headache wasn’t happy about the excessive heat and her flesh started cooking so she spent a good deal of the two hours standing in the ocean up to her neck. I had a really good time sitting on the wet sand with Kimi, letting the waves crash into us, push us all around and over, and pull us back and forth - I love that rag doll feeling.
After the beach, Daddy David requested a diner run. Kimi and I were all for it and were quite enthused about the prospect of a large glass of ice-water in an air-conditioned restaurant. Being a little sun-stroked, I missed the exit for the Edison Diner and decided the next closest diner was our local eatery in Newark. Being that Kimi had planned to spend the night with me at my house near Trenton, Daddy was totally surprised to see us back in his neck of the woods so soon but he was happy to join us for a snack. After food, Daddy took Daddy David to the train station and I went back to Daddy’s place with Kimi and crashed out. Daddy David said he’d go back to the beach with me next week. I’m hoping the flies and jellyfish stay away so we can actually enjoy being naked in the sun and ocean!
Thursday I had to head home kinda early to do some bio-family stuff in the afternoon/evening. Turns out I didn’t get much sun on Wednesday but I torqued my knee walking on the sand so took some anti-inflamitory meds and tried to rest it.
Friday I picked Kimi up at the train station and headed to New Hope for some window shopping. We both need costumes for Dragon*Con. Ok, maybe we don’t need costumes, but we’d sure like them:)
After a little wandering, we headed back to my house to meet one of my old work-friends, TL, for a puppy-play-date. Kimi opted to stay out of the heat and away from the grassy allergens while TL and I ran the brown-dog-brigade ragged in my back yard. Well, that was the idea but in truth, the dogs pretty much ran us ragged instead. They fetched tennis balls, spashed in the kiddie pool, played ‘tug of war’ and ‘make the human chase me’ before I finally called it quits and we tentatively set another play-date for late next week.
While I was outside, Kimi was working on her new header graphic. We finished the image together and enjoyed a traditional pasta dinner (courtesy of my mother) before getting ready to leave for the club. It took about an hour to get dressed and 40 minutes to drive to Vesago. We got to the club just before 11 and stayed until 1:30 or so. In that time, I danced to an old Siouxsie song, had my own drink spilled on me, molested a suspended girl, sucked smoke from a dancer, propositioned a gorgeous red-head for smoke and got a very passionate kiss in exchange. I gave her my number - we’ll see if she calls:)
Today, Saturday, Kimi and I are taking it easy before heading to NYC with Daddy tonight for a TES Fest Volunteer Appreciation Party at Bacchus.
